An Indian citizen was killed and two others injured in a cross-border attack between Lebanon and Israel on Monday. The fatal incident occurred when an anti-tank missile struck an orchard near Margaliot, a town situated along Israel's northern border. Patnibin Maxwell from Kollam, Kerala, lost his life in the attack, with his remains identified at Ziv Hospital. Bush Joseph George and Paul Melvin, also from Kerala, sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva and Ziv Hospital in Safed, respectively.

The attack is believed to have been carried out by the Shi'ite Hezbollah faction in Lebanon, which has been targeting northern Israel with rockets, missiles, and drones in solidarity with Hamas amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip. This tragic incident underscores the volatile security situation in the region, with tensions between Israel and its neighbors persistently escalating. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs is actively monitoring the situation and maintaining communication with Israeli and Lebanese authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian citizens in the area.
