The Congress announced the names of 57 candidates on Thursday evening. However, none of the candidates for the remaining seats in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have been declared yet. It is speculated that the Congress may announce the candidates on Friday. Both the BJP and Congress have released their third list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. While the BJP has already declared its candidates for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the Congress is yet to announce candidates for the remaining seats in both states. Until late Thursday evening, people in both states awaited the Congress's list. However, the announcement did not materialize. It is now believed that the announcement of candidates may take place on Friday.

Reasons Behind Congress's Dilemma

After facing a resounding defeat in the Assembly elections in both states, the Congress is determined not to lose Lok Sabha seats. Therefore, the party is continuously brainstorming to field prominent faces in both states. Several leaders have declined to contest the elections, while the trend of leaving the party is also ongoing. This has become a major headache for the Congress. Consequently, the Congress is preparing its big leaders to contest the elections, leading to prolonged deliberations for the announcement of candidates.

BJP's High-Pitched Campaign Kick-Off

Following the announcement of candidates, BJP candidates have embarked on a vigorous campaign in both states. They are touring their respective Lok Sabha constituencies and making various promises to the people. Meanwhile, the BJP is also claiming to cross the mark of 400 seats. It is worth mentioning that voting for the Lok Sabha elections will take place in seven phases starting from April 19. The counting will take place on June 4. Candidates for 5 seats in Chhattisgarh and 18 seats in Madhya Pradesh are yet to be announced.
