As the Lok Sabha elections draw closer, sources within the Congress party have revealed the anticipated electoral plans of its prominent leaders. According to these sources, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is poised to make her debut in electoral politics by contesting from the party's stronghold of Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, former Congress president, is set to return to the fray in Amethi, another key bastion for the party in Uttar Pradesh. Rahul had suffered defeat in the 2019 elections at the hands of the BJP's Smriti Irani in Amethi. However, in addition to Amethi, Rahul Gandhi will also be vying for the Wayanad seat in Kerala, a constituency he had contested and won in the previous elections. While an Uttar Pradesh Congress leader recently affirmed Rahul Gandhi's candidacy in Amethi, there has been no official announcement from the party's central leadership. The Congress Central Election Committee meeting, where such decisions are typically finalized, is yet to take place. Rahul Gandhi has a long-standing association with Amethi, having represented the constituency in Parliament from 2002 until 2019.
