In a significant move before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Chhattisgarh government, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, fulfilled another electoral promise by distributing keys to 51 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM Awas Yojana) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The event, held in Nav Raipur, was attended by the Union Minister of Housing and Environment, O.P. Chaudhary, along with the Prime Minister.
During the ceremony, Minister Chaudhary reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to providing permanent housing to every poor person in the country, a promise that the government of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is diligently fulfilling. He assured that no poor person would be deprived of a concrete house under Modi's guarantee. Keeping this commitment in mind, immediately after taking the oath on December 13, the Chhattisgarh government, in its first cabinet meeting on December 14, took the historic decision to build houses under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme for 18 lakh poor families.
Construction of WSS Buildings:
The minister informed that in the first phase, construction of 816 WSS buildings has been completed at a cost of Rs. 43.53 crore under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme in Sector-30 of Nav Raipur Atal Nagar, out of which 766 buildings have already been allotted. Meanwhile, physical possession has been given for 616 buildings. He further stated that in the second phase, construction of 560 WSS has been completed, at a cost of Rs. 29.92 crore, out of which allocation has been made for 270 buildings and 51 beneficiaries have registered.
