In a devastating incident at the Delhi Jal Board's sewage treatment plant in Keshopur, a man tragically lost his life after falling into a borewell. The unfortunate event led to the untimely demise of the victim, whose body was retrieved from the borewell around 3 pm.
Delhi Minister Atishi has taken swift action in response to the incident, directing Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to conduct a time-bound inquiry. She emphasized the need for strong and exemplary action against any officers found responsible for the tragedy. Additionally, Minister Atishi has mandated the immediate welding and sealing of all government and private abandoned borewells to prevent similar incidents in the future. Compliance with these directives is to be reported within 48 hours, as stated by the Office of the Minister.
The Delhi Police are currently working to identify the deceased, further underscoring the urgency of addressing safety concerns surrounding borewells to prevent such heartbreaking incidents from occurring again.
